What we can confirm
Code 1E, from the manufacturer's own documentation
A code is only meaningful together with the machine showing it — the same digits mean different things on different equipment.
The code
1E
One of the few codes on this make that means two different things on two different machines, and Samsung says so itself. On a WaterWall dishwasher it is water not getting through the fine filter at the bottom of the tub. On a rotary machine it is the tub running too hot. The wash system is usually printed on the front of the door, and it decides which of the two you are looking at — which is why the first useful thing to tell us is which machine you have rather than which code it shows.

What else belongs to the dishwashers
On this make a code belongs to the appliance rather than to a product line. These are the other conditions this machine can display, and the models that can show this one — a display often has more than one thing to say, and the model number decides what any of it costs to put right.
Other codes this appliance can display
the wash pump is not running as it should
the incoming water is too hot
water is not arriving at the pressure or temperature the machine needs
the machine cannot empty itself
the moving reflector is not traveling as it should
there is less water in the tub than the cycle needs
not an error — the machine is waiting to be connected to a phone
the panel reads a button as stuck
the panel and the main board have stopped talking
the tub is running hotter than it should
the temperature inside cannot be read correctly
the leak sensor has found moisture in the base

The other ways Samsung prints this one
1E · IE
Samsung publishes a condition and then every string that can stand for it, and which one your machine shows depends on the panel it was built with. They mean the same thing and they are one page here, so whichever of them you searched for, this is the right page.
Where this appears, and why not to clear it
On the appliance's own display. Samsung reports errors two ways: machines with a digital display show a code, and the same machines without one blink their cycle lights instead. Both are published by the maker and both are on this site. Photograph what the panel shows before cutting the power — Samsung asks for this itself on its refrigerator and dishwasher pages, and it is the one thing that makes a first visit more useful. A code that has been reset is information a technician no longer has.
What to do about it
- Find out which wash system your machine uses; it is on the door or in the manual.
- On a WaterWall, take out the fine filter at the bottom of the tub, wash it under a tap and refit it. Food residue and grease build up faster than owners expect.
- On a rotary machine, cut the power at the breaker for thirty seconds, empty the machine and run a normal cycle with detergent.
- If the code returns after the right one of those, the filter is not the problem and it needs measuring.
Where this goes next
The job this usually becomes is waterwall reflector repair, and that page carries a starting figure and the reasons that move it. If it turns out to be nothing — and on this make a real share of these are modes, reminders and settings rather than problems — the visit ends there and you pay the diagnostic and nothing else, or call (305) 506-1256 and describe what the panel is doing before booking anything.
