Samsung range error code C-24
Samsung range error code C-24: The sensor has seen the cavity temperature climbing faster than it should, and Samsung names the cause it sees most: the oven vent, which is at the back of the cooktop, being covered or partly covered. Every spelling Samsung publishes for it, which machines can raise it, and what to do next.

What we can confirm
Code C-24, from the manufacturer's own documentation
A code is only meaningful together with the machine showing it — the same digits mean different things on different equipment.
The code
C-24
The sensor has seen the cavity temperature climbing faster than it should, and Samsung names the cause it sees most: the oven vent, which is at the back of the cooktop, being covered or partly covered. A pan parked over it will do it. So will a tray, a trivet or the back edge of a large stockpot. It is the code most likely to be caused by something you can simply move.

What else belongs to the ranges
On this make a code belongs to the appliance rather than to a product line. These are the other conditions this machine can display, and the models that can show this one — a display often has more than one thing to say, and the model number decides what any of it costs to put right.
Other codes this appliance can display
the cookware, not the appliance
not an error — a burner or element is still on
the divider that turns one oven into two
the door is not being seen as closed
not an error — the appliance is in showroom mode and will not heat
the appliance is not properly connected to its supply
usually the test, not the oven
two boards inside the appliance have stopped agreeing
the code is real, and Samsung publishes no procedure for it

About Samsung range error code C-24
What C-24 means on this make
The sensor has seen the cavity temperature climbing faster than it should, and Samsung names the cause it sees most: the oven vent, which is at the back of the cooktop, being covered or partly covered. A pan parked over it will do it. So will a tray, a trivet or the back edge of a large stockpot. It is the code most likely to be caused by something you can simply move.
Where this appears, and why not to clear it
On the appliance's own display. Samsung reports errors two ways: machines with a digital display show a code, and the same machines without one blink their cycle lights instead. Both are published by the maker and both are on this site. Photograph what the panel shows before cutting the power — Samsung asks for this itself on its refrigerator and dishwasher pages, and it is the one thing that makes a first visit more useful. A code that has been reset is information a technician no longer has.
What to do about it
- Look at the vent across the back of the cooktop and take anything off it.
- While it is still cooking you can help it clear by opening and closing the door for about three seconds at a time, a few times, to let the hot air out.
- Or switch the oven off and leave the door open for a minute to let it cool.
- If the vent is clear and the code returns, the temperature sensing needs measuring.
Where this goes next
The job this usually becomes is oven sensor calibration, and that page carries a starting figure and the reasons that move it. If it turns out to be nothing — and on this make a real share of these are modes, reminders and settings rather than problems — the visit ends there and you pay the diagnostic and nothing else, or call (305) 506-1256 and describe what the panel is doing before booking anything.
