Before you call anybody
Take everything off the back wall of the fresh-food compartment and look for vents. On most Samsung cabinets there are two or three, and a cereal box or a large flat container against them will produce this complaint on a perfectly healthy machine. Then check the freezer is not so full that air cannot circulate round the evaporator behind its back panel.
What it usually means, by the kind of Samsung appliance
Samsung sells one appliance in several forms, and the same behavior points at different things on each of them. A built-in side-by-side and an integrated column are not the same service situation, and a dual-fuel range and an induction range fail in different halves.
- French door and 4-Door Flex — Air reaches the fresh-food side through a damper. A damper that has stuck shut gives you exactly this, and it is a modest repair.
- Side-by-side — The duct between the two sides is long and easy to block with a tall bottle or a packed shelf against the back wall.
- Bottom freezer — Frost on the evaporator shows first as a fresh-food side that drifts warm, because the freezer keeps its temperature long after airflow has dropped.
One machine, two rooms
It surprises people that a refrigerator with two very different temperatures usually has one cooling system. The evaporator lives on the freezer side, and the fresh-food compartment is cooled with air moved across from it, through a duct and past a damper. Every part of that path can fail while the cold itself is being made perfectly well — which is why this complaint is good news more often than bad.
What it rules out
A cold freezer means the compressor runs, the refrigerant is there, and the sealed system is doing its job. That takes the most expensive repair on the site off the table before anybody opens anything.

Should I turn the fridge colder to compensate?
It rarely helps and it often makes things worse: the freezer gets colder, more frost forms, and the airflow that was already marginal gets worse. Better to find out why the air is not arriving.
