Samsung refrigerators have a showroom mode that lights the panel and does not cool. It gets switched on at home by accident, and it produces a cabinet that looks perfectly alive and is warm. It is free to clear and it is checked first.

Samsung publishes codes for both evaporator fans and the usual cause is ice rather than a dead motor. A frozen fan and a failed fan look identical from outside and cost differently.
