# Samsung washer leak repair

### Where it appears in the cycle is the diagnosis

A leak on fill is a hose, a valve or the dispenser. A leak during the wash is the door boot or the tub. A leak on spin is the pump seal or a hose under pressure. Ten minutes of watching a cycle narrows this more than any amount of dismantling, and it is the first thing we do. Samsung's own leak sensing usually finds it before the floor does, which is the cheap end of this repair.

What this involves

1E and LC traced to a source rather than cleared

Door boot, hoses, pump seal, dispenser and tub checked in order

Found early, this is a hose rather than a cabinet

Run it and watch

A leak that appears on fill is different from one that appears on spin, and that timing narrows it faster than any amount of dismantling.

Watch a full cycle

Fill, wash and spin, with the machine pulled out. When the water appears is the diagnosis, and ten minutes of watching beats an hour of dismantling.

Check the detergent dose

Foam climbs past a seal that water would never get through, which is why a machine that leaks only on some cycles is worth testing with a much smaller dose.

Look inside the neighboring cabinet

Water from the back reaches the cabinet next door before it reaches the kitchen floor, and finding it there is the difference between a hose and a floor.

### Could it be the detergent?

Genuinely, yes. Foam climbs past a seal that water would never get through, so a machine that leaks only on some cycles is worth testing with a much smaller dose first.

### Will you tell me the price before you start?

Yes, in writing, after the diagnostic and before anything is opened. Every figure on this site is a starting point; the number you agree to is the one you pay.
