### A repair with no parts in it

Samsung hoods can pair with a Samsung range or cooktop so the fan starts when cooking does. Losing that pairing — after a power cut, a firmware update or a network change — makes a perfectly healthy hood look broken, because the appliance it is waiting for is no longer talking to it. Samsung publishes the procedure to restore it, and doing that is usually the entire visit.
