Samsung's leak sensor sits in the base pan and finds moisture long before your floor does. When it triggers, the machine turns itself on and will not turn off while it pumps the water away — alarming to watch and exactly the right behavior. The job is tracing the source: base pan, tub seam, door gasket, inlet, drain connection or pump seal, each of which leaves a different trail.
