A communication code — CE on a dishwasher, AC on a dryer, C-F0 on a range — means two boards have stopped agreeing, and the connection between them is the cheapest suspect by a wide margin. On a dishwasher it runs through the door hinge and flexes every time the door opens; on a stacked laundry pair it has usually been disturbed. A replacement board is also configured before it is left, because Samsung's own 18:8J is a board set up for a different machine.
